It's not easy to speak with teenagers on their level and often we fail in our attempts to communicate with them. As parents, we want our children to enter into adulthood/adolescence with confidence and wisdom. Enjoying the adolescent period while helping our children become independent and responsible can be challenging.

One of the goals of the Life Care Center, an Izmail community organization, is participating in sex education for children and teenagers in order to prevent risky behavior.
At the parenting conference "Almost Adults" practical pieces of advice on raising teenagers were given to parents.

The following topics were taken into consideration:

• How to lead/guide your family in a sinful world.
• The dangers of early sexual experience. The importance of sex education in the family.
• Why children behave "badly". How to help children have adequate self-esteem.
• How to protect children from problems related to their own personal image (appearance, shopping dependency, pornography, eating disorders.
